What the Classes Mean and What they OfferBallet (4&up)
The basis of all dance technique, students are strongly encouraged to participate in this as it builds strong, flexible muscles and engages students' sense of self. This class works towards generating grace, poise, sound body alignment, fluidity and an appreciation for classical music.
Modern (6&up)
With a strong background in ballet, this class explores the diverse avenues of movement and ventures into interpretive skills and performance dynamic. Students will be introduced to the teaching of Martha Graham, Jose Limon and Lester Horton and are further educated in the collaborative teaching of Irene Dowd and Peggy Baker.
Jazz (6&up)
Upbeat and full of fun, this class promises to build strength and flexibility for all dancers. Jazz works similarly to ballet but also requires dancers to move effectively in a turn-out and parallel position. This is a fast-paced class geared towards improving flexibility, co-ordination, strength and stamina. Lots of hard work and fun!
Irish (5&up) currently not available
Made popular by Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, this upbeat class is based on the steps passed down from generation to generation in the form of Jigs, Reels, Horn Pipes, Slip Jigs and more.
Highland (5&up)
Students are exposed to the Scottish cultural dances in this class and have the opportunity to learn form of Reels, Jigs and even the Sword Dances.
Belly Dance (14&up)
Explore the mystique of Arabian and Mediterranean dances and find muscles you didn't think you had! The art of Belly Dance is a total body workout and is done in a supportive and fun atmosphere. Bring your sense of humour, ladies, and move things that you forgot you had!
Hip Hop (8&up)
Always a popular class! With upbeat music and the latest moves, this class is going to get students fit while having fun. Stemming from different forms of street dance, this is a non-technical class full of complex choreography, good music and hard work.
Creative Movement (3-5)
Another popular class for youngsters, this entire class works in a creative atmosphere encouraging imaginations to excel. Students in this class will develop comfortably into any genre of dance. This class works with developing social skills, spatial orientation, balance, rhythm and musical appreciation.

Program Etiquette and Conduct
Dress CodeNo jewelry please including dangling earrings, watches, bracelets, necklaces and selected rings.
Creative Movement: Baby Blue body suits, ballet tights, pink ballet shoes, hair off the face and neck
Ballet: Black Body suit, pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a tidy bun off the face and neck
Jazz/Modern: Black body suit, ballet pink or flesh toned dance tights (dance shorts or dance capris are acceptable over the tights), black jazz shoes for jazz, bare feet for modern, hair in a tidy bun off the face and neck
Irish/Highland: plain white t-shirt or tank top, black dance shorts or dance capris pants, Irish socks and shoes for Irish (hard shoes are required in the higher levels), gillies for Highland, hair in a tidy pony tail or bun of the face and neck
Hip Hop: tank top or t-shirt (NO MIDRIFF or BRA STRAPS or VULGAR GRAPHICS), dance pants (no jeans, cargos or pajamas) indoor running shoes, hair in a tidy pony tail off the face and neck
Boys: Plain white T-shirt, black shorts or pants appropriate to his selected class
*Please note: Sports bras only! Bras should be supportive and black to match the black body suit or white under the white shirts for Highland and Irish.
Attendance Policy:
If a student misses 6 or more classes throughout the term we reserve the right to not allow participation in the year end performance or any extra events. If more than 3 classes are misses and consecutively without medical reason or notification to the school we reserve the right to give your spot to another student on a waiting list without refund to you.
Notification of Absence:
Please call the school prior to any student absences. Continued lack of notification may result in removal from the class without refund or removal from performances.
Refund Policy:
A full refund will be granted is a student withdraws within two weeks of classes beginning. After two weeks and up to 6weeks the participant will pay for the taken classes OR up until the school is notified of leaving the program. After six weeks there is no refund.
Code of Conduct:
Students and parents are asked to respect the teachers, staff and other participants of the school and follow the rules and regulation as outlined in the Policy Sheet. Continued lack of compliance or respect will result in barring the student or parent from the studio without monetary refund. We are striving to encourage the highest possible standard of decorum and behaviour. We hope that this school contributes to the cultural growth of all our participants.
